'Light Up Someone’s Festive Season' Competition Terms and Conditions of Entry


  1. Information on how to enter and prize details form part of these Terms and Conditions. Entry into the Promotion is deemed acceptance of these Terms and Conditions. 
  2. The Competition is a game of skill, chance does not form part of selecting the winner. 
  3. The Promoter may cancel, terminate, modify, suspend or postpone the Competition at any time.
  4. During the Competition Period, anyone may enter the Competition, provided that they are:
    1. over eighteen years of age; 
    2. a resident of Australia; and 
    3. not an employee or immediate family member of the Promoter or an employee or agent of the Promoter who is connected with the Competition.


  5. To enter, entrants must:
    1. Follow @Bunnings on Instagram; or like ‘Bunnings Warehouse’ on Facebook
    2. Like the Promoter’s post outlining the Competition details; and 
    3. Tag someone to nominate to win the Competition in the comments section of the Competition instagram post or Facebook post and tell us why their nominee deserves to have their Christmas lit up this festive season.
    4. Entrants must also include the state in which they (the nominator) lives in their entry.  
  6. Entrants may enter as many times as they wish however each entry must be substantially unique.
  7. The Promoter may deem as invalid any entry which: 
    1. is illegible, incomprehensible, offensive or incomplete; or 
    2. includes objectionable, profane, insulting, inflammatory or defamatory material. 
  8. The Promoter may disqualify any entrant who:
    1. enters the Competition without being eligible; 
    2. tampers with the entry process; 
    3. submits an entry that is not in accordance with the Competition terms; or
    4. in entering the Competition, engages in conduct which is fraudulent, misleading, deceptive or damaging to the goodwill or reputation of the Competition or the Promoter.

    Selecting winners

  9. The Promoter, in its sole discretion, will select the winner of each state from the vaild entries at the Selection Time on the Selection Date at the Selection Address.   
  10. The Promoter, in its sole discretion, will select the winners on the basis of which submitted entries are most engaging. The Promoter may select additional reserve entries which they determine to be the next best, and record them in order, in case of an invalid entry or ineligible entrant. The Promoter’s selection is final and binding. 

    Winning entries

  11. The Promoter will notify the winners in writing through their Instagram or Facebook account within two (2) business days of the Selection Date and their Instagram account or Facebook account name will be published as an Instagram story and Facebook story on the Promoter’s Instagram and Facebook accounts from 16 November 2020. 
  12. The Promoter may publish the winning entries (in whole or part) in future editions of the ‘Make it Yours’ publication, and across Bunnings’ digital, social media platforms or physical publications. 
  13. In consideration of the Promoter publishing the winning entries, the winner: 
    1. consents to the Promoter using his or her name, likeness, image, voice and entry in any marketing and promotion of the Competition, future editions of the ‘Make it Yours’ publication, and across Bunnings’ digital, social media platforms or physical publications; 
    2. acknowledges that the entry (and any content submitted with the entry) is the property of the Promoter; 
    3. agrees that no other compensation or remuneration will be provided to them in connection with their winning entry. 


  14. The Promoter is not liable for any loss, expense, damage or liability suffered or incurred by entrants and winners in connection with the Competition, including: 
    1. any late, lost, altered, damaged or misdirected entries or prize acceptance, including delays due to technical disruptions or network congestion; 
    2. any incorrect or inaccurate information caused by equipment or programming associated with or utilised in the Competition; 
    3. any technical error, including any omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission or communications line, telephone, mobile or satellite network failure; and 
    4. any theft, destruction, unauthorised access to or alteration of entries. 
  15. Nothing under paragraph 14 is intended to limit entrants’ or winners’ rights under the Australian Consumer Law 2010.
  16. This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, any social media platform through which it is promoted and those platforms are not liable for any loss, expense, damage or liability suffered or incurred by entrants and winners in connection with the Competition. 

    Personal information

  17. The Promoter is bound by the Australian Privacy Principles contained in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).The Promoter collects personal information (PI) in order to conduct the promotion and may, for this purpose, disclose such PI to third parties, including but not limited to agents, contractors, service providers, prize suppliers and, as required, to Australian regulatory authorities. Entry is conditional on providing this PI. The Promoter will also use and handle PI as set out in its Privacy Policy. A copy of the Promoter’s privacy policy can be viewed at Privacy Policy. In addition to any use that may be outlined in the Promoter’s Privacy Policy, the Promoter may, for an indefinite period, unless otherwise advised, use the PI for promotional, marketing, publicity, research and profiling purposes, including sending electronic messages or telephoning the entrant. The Privacy Policy also contains information about how entrants may opt out, access, update or correct their PI, how entrants may complain about a breach of the Australian Privacy Principles or any other applicable law and how those complaints will be dealt with. All entries become the property of the Promoter. Each entrant expressly consents to its personal information being disclosed for the purposes of issuing and delivering the prize.
